Comments reinstated

Category musings
I realized the other day that I was about five patches behind the times, as I was running Blogsphere 2.5.1. So I upgraded to 2.5.6, forgetting the cardinal rule: always update the config doc after an upgrade. So I didn't realize that comments were disabled until Steve called and harrassed me about it. I have now clicked the little checkbox, so comments should be working again.

Just to let you know in advance, tomorrow's SnTT might be worth taking a gander at. It's a surprisingly concise bit of code that allows for extremely flexible DbLookups / DbColumns via AJAX. I'm also thinking of renaming my site........ stay tuned.

Gravatar Image1 - I always told you that you were a crappy developer. My god man, don't you test anything? Comments!?!? How the hell do you have a blog without comments?

Gravatar Image2 - On the bright side, Blogsphere's current design plays fairly well with browsers that have Javascript disabled... at least, for read-only access. AJAXing the sideblocks would theoretically make Blogsphere sites less accessible. Which reminds me... I've been meaning to suggest a feature: a set of elements within Blogsphere that would allow mobile-friendly browsing.

Gravatar Image3 - I really love to hear about AJAX as a dblookup solution. I tried to use it to display content in sideblocks in Blogsphere but all my attempts were not robust enough.
