In just under 10 days I'll be pulling into Nathan's driveway (that reminds me, I should probably ask him for directions). I'm taking a slightly strangled route to Orlando: I'm going to drive to Kennesaw first, ditch the car there, and join the rest of the gang on the bus. Then it's (approximately) 8 hours of coding in the "mobile command center" to put the finishing touches on everything we've got planned... somebody asked me today if we've been busy lately. Off the top of my head, I could think of 5 separate big announcements that we've got tucked away for that week, and couldn't shake the feeling that I was forgetting a couple more. As I was listening to Taking Notes Episode 72, Bruce mentioned to me that he and Julian were hyper at the beginning of it, and I realized that I've been a bit manic lately: 3 - 4 hours of sleep a night, yet almost no coffee. That defies the laws of logic, biology, and possibly even physics... so, yeah, I'm having fun. There's a very real possibility that I'll get back home after the conference and Rip some Van Winkle, but probably not... we've set into motion enough to keep me entertained for quite some time.
Oh, by the way, if you see me at 'Sphere and want to say hi, feel free. That's probably what I'm looking forward to most about the trip. This picture is a little outdated:

So I found one a bit more recent:

I backed off a bit on the Grizzly Adams impersonation... to be precise, during Memorial Day weekend last year (oh wait, it's '08 now... so, the year before...), I woke up one morning and decided my head was just way too hot (the "it's 107 degrees Fahrenheit with 93% humidity" kind of hot, not the "Dr. McDreamy" kind), and proceeded to shave off all of my hair. Nothin' but stubble. My wife was a bit shocked when she got back from walking the dogs. It's since grown back quite a bit, but somehow I doubt it'll ever be that long again. And no, I don't think Patrick Dempsey is hot. But a lot of people do. Um... I think I'll go to sleep now.
Just kidding. I'ma go write some more code.
