anniversary

Category musings
As of today, I've been employed at Lotus 911 for one year. Doesn't feel like it's really been that long, but maybe that's just because, in 10 1/2 years, I've had 7 jobs, so having stayed a full year makes it the third longest I've been with the same company. I'm actually not quite as skittish as that makes me sound: my first Notes job was as a contractor working full-time at a single client who, after 11 months, hired me as a regular employee in a slightly different role than the one I'd occupied as a contractor. 18 months later, the company was absorbed by another (in what was called a merger but was really an acquisition) the same day I moved to yet another role in the organization, so once again it was technically a different job in a different company... but not really. 9 months later I left for a company I stayed at for 5 years. So for all intents and purposes, my first two jobs lasted me a total of 8 years - whereas the next two spanned little more than a year (5 1/2 months and 10 months, respectively). Anyway, just felt like celebrating that milestone. I might have something interesting to say in the next few days... possibly even tomorrow.
