Whoever wrote the Oregon Trail application for Facebook is a bit twisted. I tried it out as a brief diversion from what I'm working on during my four-day weekend, and noticed that, while it's fairly similar to the original game, there are a few key differences. Bullets are far more expensive, so it's tempting to buy fewer at the outset in order to afford more oxen. Hunting is easier, because everything's a buffalo, so you don't waste bullets trying to shoot squirrels, but each buffalo only generates around 10 pounds of food (my dachshund weighs more than that... though I'd never eat him, of course). And there's no way that I've been able to find to adjust the rations. So the end result is that you run out of money, bullets and food rather rapidly.
After each action, you're shown a status page listing each party member's health or mood (at the moment, one of my friends wants a cigar, another is annoyed at me, and Chris Whisonant has dysentery). But I noticed that each has an icon next to their status: an icon of a plate and sliverware. "Weird," I thought, "you have to set each person's rations separately?" So I clicked one, and here's what I saw:

That's just wrong. Don't eat Bob Balaban.
